In the video, Jobs implies that Apple open sources their contributions to WebKit so Apple and other browser makers like Google can gang up on IE and Mozilla (sorry I don’t have the timecode — it’s a long video). In other words, Apple open sources strategically. So I wonder why they’re taking FaceTime to the standards bodies.
